My hope is in God. Psalm 43:5 NLT says “Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God. I will praise him again, my Savior and my God.” There are so many verses in the Bible about putting our hope in God alone. He is the one who will always arise to the occasion and never let us down. He is constant and unchanging. That’s why hope from God is an anchor for our souls. Hope keeps us grounded. It keeps us steady when life gets shaky and uncertain.
In Romans 5:3-4, it talks about how suffering produces perseverance, perseverance produces character, and character produces hope. We may start out with suffering, but we will always end in hope. We not only have hope that He will deliver us from our troubles, but we also have hope that He will work all things together for our good and for His glory. In Riley Clemmons’ “For the Good,” It says: “For the good, for the good. You work all things together. For the good, for the good. Your promise stands forever. You alone are my greatest hope. I trust You on the broken road. You work all things together like only You could. For the good.”
